Its conditions are ten (1): Islam, reason, discernment (2), intention (3), following its ruling (4) by not intending to cut it off until purity is complete, a positive cessation (5), cleansing or cleansing oneself before it (6), purification of water (7), and its permissibility (8 ), removing anything that prevents it from reaching the skin (9), and introducing a permanent time period for the one who narrated it to enforce it (10).
(1) Meaning: Ablution is not valid except under ten conditions.
(2) Meaning: the fact that he performs ablution while he is a Muslim, sane, and discerning.
(3) It means: the intention to purify, by intending to purify himself from the event that occurred from him, such as urine or wind; According to his saying, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Actions are based on intentions.” (4) That the intention remains with him until he completes the ablution. If he washes his face and hands, then stops performing the ablution, and then it occurs to him to complete the ablution, then he must repeat the ablution from the beginning. Because his ablution was invalidated when he broke the intention. (5) That he performs ablution after he has stopped having a trigger, which is urine or defecation, for example. If he performs ablution while urine comes out of him, what is valid until the trigger stops and he cleans himself. (6) Ablution must be preceded by cleansing oneself or cleansing oneself of urine or defecation after cleansing oneself with water or cleaning oneself with stones three or more times. The condition for cleaning oneself three times or more is to purify the place. (7) Meaning: the water being pure. (8) Meaning: neither usurped nor forbidden. Question: Is it valid to perform ablution on vessels of gold and silver? The answer: It is not permissible to use gold and silver vessels. Because the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade its use, but ablution in it is valid even if it is prohibited. Because it got what was intended. Some scholars prohibit this, including the author’s statement: (And it is permissible); Because using gold and silver utensils is not permissible, like usurped items, it is not valid. According to his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Whoever does an act that is not according to our command will have it rejected,” and this has its legal meaning. And whoever says that it is authentic says: What is meant is purity and it was achieved with water, and sin is not prevented, such as if he passed by a basin or pond and performed ablution from it without asking its people’s permission, or he performed tayammum from the dirt of a land without asking its people’s permission, and the like, so what is meant is purity and it was achieved, and the sin is that he used something. It is not permissible for him to prevent the validity of ablution, and because what is forbidden is usurpation and injustice, and it is not forbidden to perform ablution, but it is safer for the believer to repeat the ablution and stay away from controversial issues, and to perform ablution only with permissible water, and therefore the author asserted that permissibility is a condition for the validity of prayer; In accordance with the original: “What I have forbidden you, avoid it.” (9) Meaning: The person performing ablution removes anything that prevents water from reaching the skin, if it is on his face or hand, such as dough or similar things that prevent water from reaching the skin. Question: What is the ruling on paint? Does it prevent water from reaching the skin? The answer: Paint is different. If it has a substance, it removes it, and if it does not have a substance, but rather it is a dye, it does not harm and does not prevent water from reaching the skin. (10) Such as a woman suffering from istihaadah, or someone with incontinence, who performs ablution when the time comes. Because the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to the woman suffering from menstruation: “Perform ablution at the time of each prayer.”
